Who is Eng. Morandir Junior

I am Morandir Meira Brandão Junior, civil engineer and specialist in structural engineering, working in Presidente Prudente and the region. I am the technical lead at 2MB Engenharia e Projetos, where we develop complete reinforced concrete structural projects for residential and commercial works, from preliminary sizing to final detailing.

Besides professional practice, I have taught structural engineering for more than 5 years. I am a professor in the graduate program in Reinforced Concrete Structures and Structural Masonry at Unoeste and I teach the Structural Design Course for Reinforced Concrete Elements, training engineers and construction professionals across the country.

My work combines the technical rigor of someone who designs with the clarity of someone who teaches. I use Eberick software for modeling, analysis and structural detailing, ensuring precision and compatibility between design and construction. Whether for a single family home, a commercial expansion or a second technical opinion, the goal is the same: deliver a safe, economical and buildable structure.

Frequently asked questions

What does a structural engineer do, and why hire one before building?
The structural engineer calculates and sizes the structure that keeps the building standing. The architect designs the spaces; the engineer validates the architectural design numerically, sizing slabs, beams, columns and foundations so the work is safe, economical and buildable.
Do you only serve Presidente Prudente or other cities too?
I serve Presidente Prudente and all of Western São Paulo.
How does a structural design quote work?
First the architectural design must be reviewed. The fee is charged per square meter and varies with project complexity.
How long does a residential structural design take?
It depends on size and complexity. A single story 200 m² house, for example, takes around 15 days.
Do I need a structural design even for renovation or expansion?
Yes. Without the previous design, you do not know where columns and beams are, or whether a wall can be safely removed. In expansions, the new structure must be designed and the existing structure analyzed.
Do you also supervise construction, or only deliver the design?
I deliver the design and can also supervise construction when agreed with the client.
How do the structural design courses work?

Is the site simulator an official design?
No. It is an educational estimate based on general technical parameters and does not replace a structural design signed by an engineer.
